Artist Statement

 
In our world of chaos, clay holds a certain magic for me.  No matter how many pounds I have wedged, thrown or trimmed, things may sometimes come out surprisingly different than I had planned.  It is the beauty of the piece that transpires beyond expectations and the vessel singing glorious melodies of visual delight that is magic and brings some control to the chaos around me.  Clay is my challenge, my adventure; it has taught me patience in my expectations, and my imagination is freed to create the vision of the work in my mind.
